Played at the Bharat CC, Shivaji Park in Dadar, it was a match between John Bright and Wellington CC where in Wellington CC won the toss and elected to bowl first as the Shivaji park always has something for the bowlers.

Their decision to bowl first was spot on as John Bright were all out for 161/10 in 47.5 overs where in opener Anshul gupta and Shaban Shaikh top scored with 30’s. Slow left arm spinner Shantanu Kadam was the most impressive of the lot as he took 5/31 in 14.5 overs to trouble the opposition batsman. 15yr old Shantanu who is the youngest player in the team is playing with as well as against the players who are elder to him in Kanga & is certainly looking very promising considering his age as it takes time physically as well as mentally to cope up with players who are elder, stronger and fitter than you. Experienced off spinner Vinayak Pillai also bowled well as he took 3wkts.

Sagar Shah who scored 88* off just 88balls

In reply, Wellington CC made 164/7 in 35 overs and won the match on 1st innings with right handed Sagar Shah at no.4 who anchored his team to surpass the opposition’s total. Sagar hardly wasted any time at the crease as he scored 88* at a strike rate of 100 which included 10 fours and a six. Wellington CC won the match on 1st innings lead and it was definitely this young prodigy Shantanu’s bowling and Sagar Shah’s solid batting which remained the standout performances in the match.
