Aarush, Omkar, Ayush and Aryan display their batting prowess while Anushuman scalps 5wkts in the ongoing Worli Cup 2017

It was a nail biting match where we got to see not one, not two but 5 great individual performances from the talented young cricketers. Held at the Central Maidan in Thane, it was a match between two promising teams namely DY Patil and Kurla SC where in DY Patil won the toss and bravely elected to bat first and put the opposition under pressure.

Batting first, DY Patil did a commendable job as they notched up 261runs on the board in the 1st innings in 91.1 overs. Right handed opener Aryan Agle was all class as he scored a gutsy 91 off 203 deliveries (9fours) which solidified the DY patil innings. DY Patil lost quick wickets in between but Ayush Vijaydas at no.6 scored a solid 63 off 158 balls (8fours). Ayush remained glued to the crease like Dravid to steer his team to a healthy total. From the bowling side Sushane Kapoor and Jayesh patil bowled well bagging 3wkts each.

In reply, Kurla SC gave a fitting reply with the bat as they scored 280/8d in 76.4 overs before the match ended in a draw. Openers Aarush Patankar and Aayush Iyer(35) gave a fabulous start with the bat while Aarush continued the good start to score an elegant 84 off 161balls(13fours). Just like DY, Kurla also lost quick wickets in between but it was Omkar Karandikar at no.6 who came up with a match winning 87 at a quick pace off just 123balls. In fact it was Omkar’s late onslaught which helped them surpass DY Patil’s team total. Off-spinner Anushman Suresh was the most impressive of the lot from DY as he came up with a hard fought bowling spell of 5/63 in 20overs. Anshuman bowled really well and kept on troubling the batsman consistently. Kurla SC won the match on 1st innings but it was a collectively great tough fight given by both the teams. Cricketgraph congratulates all the young progidies like Ayush, aarush, omkar and aarush while wishes both the teams luck for a great season ahead.
