Absolute Carnage by Rakesh Prabhu & Aditya Tare as they plonk 11 sixes together to sign off T20 Mumbai’19 in style

Though semi-final hopes for both the teams was over but it was a match which certainly had to be finished on a good note for both the sides and many players got the opportunity to play in the match which was virtually the last of the T20 season for both the teams.

Namo Bandra Blasters batting first again had their batsman chipping in but they lacked someome who could score 60-70 odd runs. Shrideep Mangela finally looked good after getting chances in all the matches, Mangela finally came good hitting an impressive 42 off 34 balls (3 fours, 1 six). From the bowlers, Krutik Hanagawadi with 2/33 in 4 overs was the pick of the bowlers.

Chasing 149, the general perception was that the chase will be done and match will be taken to the last over as it has been in most of the cases at Wankhede while chasing 150 or 150+ score. However, Eagle Thane Strikers wanted to sign off the tournament in style as they chased down the score in mere 11.2 overs. Skipper Aditya Tare who has been the backbone of the team with 244 runs at an average of close to 50.00 took on the bowlers en-route his 27 ball 50. Tare let loose and played some humungous shots as he knew this was the last match for his team for this year. What’s more, Aditya Tare and Rakesh Prabhu stitched 91 runs in mere 34 balls as Rakesh displayed some amazing fireworks at Wankhede.

A glorious 64* off mere 21 balls as Rakesh brought up the fastest fifty of the tournament which also included 8 big sixes much to everyone’s entertainment and to the bowlers disdain.

Eagle Thane Strikers won the match by 7 wkts and 8.4 overs to spare while it was definitely Aditya Tare and Rakesh Prabhu stealing the show with their swashbuckling batting.
