Amitkumar Kori’s fluent 91* down the order rescues Maharashtra Young Cricketers from a low total in the Kanga League ‘18

When you are batting at no.6 or 7, most of the times you get to bat under pressure situations where either you have to bat with the tail or rescue the team from a low total or just slog in the last overs. Amitkumar Kori just did that recently in the ongoing Kanga League scoring a gem of knock from nowhere.

Played between Taki Team SC and Maharashtra Young Cricketers at the Dadkar Maidan, Maharashtra young cricketers who were made to bat first were in deep trouble at one point with 5down for mere 35runs. It was right handed Amitkumar Kori who came at no.7 and rescued his team by scoring an attacking 91* of mere 81balls hitting 7fours and 5sixes. Amit not only batted well with the tail but also played freely not sparing the bad balls which helped Maharashtra YC team reach 162runs in 41.5overs. Medium pacer Atish Golatkar was the pick of the pick of the bowlers looking impressive for his 4/62 in 19overs.

Mahesh Jadhav

Taki Team survived with 8wkts down batting for 35overs till the game ended in a draw. Mahesh Jadhav bowled an excellent spell of 5/29 in 15overs with 7maidens as he did not allow the batsman to score runs easily. The match did not obtain any result but Amit’s 91* certainly saved his team from a defeat.
