Arcs Andheri win on the back of Iqbal’s all-round magic & Kevin’s top order half century in T20 Mumbai’19

Arcs Andheri batting first had a slight change in the batting order promoting Iqbal Abdullah at no.3. Opener Akhil after falling out for a duck, it was skipper Kevin Almeida who had opened the innings alongwith Iqbal stitching a brilliant 112 run stand for the 2nd wicket in mere 77 balls. Kevin scored a stylish 59 off 40 balls (6 fours, 2 sixes) while Abdullah smashed 54 off 43 (4 fours, 1 six) propelling the team towards a total of 154/8 in 20 overs. Had the batters below them pounced on the good start given by these two, they could have even crossed the 180 run mark! Prashant Solanki was the pick of the bowlers taking 4/31 in 4 overs joining the elite list of bowlers who have taken 4 fers this season.

Eagle Thane Strikers once again were not off to a good start and it seems like a lot of dependency is shown on skipper Aditya Tare as he has been playing rescuing knocks throughout the tournament. Aditya scored 48 off 34 at no.3 while Alpesh Ramjani who has been a vital middle order batsman past two seasons continues to fight hard with his impressive batting. Alpesh scored 50 off 30 balls (3 fours, 3 sixes) but the wickets were getting lost from the other end as they managed to reach a target of 142/8 in 20 overs. Left-arm spinner Iqbal Abdullah was fabulous with the ball too taking 2/20 in 4 overs while Ranjane also chipped in with 2 wkts.

Arcs Andheri won the match by 12 runs while it was Iqbal Abdullah & Kevin being the highlight performers from the winning team.
