They generally are seated in a chair with a table in front of them. They are the one’s who are often asked about the facts and figures of the match. They hold the key in the proceedings and results of a match. They keep track of what’s happening on the ground during a match. They are the scorers where all eyes are glued towards them in a tense situation of a match.

Most of the scorers one comes across are from the younger generation. One such scorer who made his debut as scorer  is Vicky Kenia way back in 2005. Most of the  beginning begins with  inspiration. Vicky too got inspired from his friend Mayur Dholakia who was a scorer and its 10 years he is still in this profession. Till date he has covered more than 100 matches in Mumbai. While speaking to Vicky who said its not easy as one thinks. A good scorer needs immense concentration, should be fast in calculations, and should have co-ordinating abilities. A tense match or situation brings puts to test and brings out the  best in any scorer. Vicky has covered many of the corporate and community matches in Mumbai.

The most difficult situation for any scorer is when one and all surround his table and keep on asking about the numbers. This is where a scorer might make mistake. But this is where one must learn and have the ability to handle it. One of the key factors for being a good scorer is you need to be good in multitasking right from co-ordinating with  Umpires, players, commentators and organisers. Certainly he has the ability and we wish him all the best !
