It was a match between two good teams namely JSW Steel & Deutsche Bank group at the Chereshwar Club ground in Trombay. Deutsche Bank who won the toss elected to bowl first as the pitch was slightly in favor of the bowlers.

Batting first, it wasn’t the best of the starts with JSW’s top 4 batsman out under 35 runs. However the lower middle order infused back life into their innings as R chaudhary & Chirag Kini stitched a match-winning partnership to take their team to a very healthy total.  While R Chaudhary scored a 42ball 46 playing the anchors role it was their right-handed Chirag Kini who took on the bowlers & counter attacked the opposition with a 35ball 60 which included 7fours & 2sixes. Chirag came at a time when the wickets were down & stitched a match winning partnership with R Chaudhary to reach 190/6 in 20 overs. P Sethi, Dorkar & Sabariya chipped in with 2wkts each while many of the bowlers proved to be expensive too.

Chasing 191 at almost 9.5runs per over, Deutsche Bank group were outwitted by the bowling of JSW boys as they managed to score only 100/8 in their quota of 20overs. Right-arm spinner Ranjit Pillai was the pick of the bowlers taking 3/19 in his 4 overs followed by 2wkts each for Koli & Rathi. Ranjit was particularly quite effective with the ball & took wickets at regular intervals.

JSW Steel won the match by 91runs & Chirag Kini was declared ‘man of the match’ for his brilliant batting. Cricketgraph congratulates the whole team & wishes them to continue playing this good brand of cricket in the future too.
