It was a cracker of a contest between Orange and Citius Tech when they locked horns against each other on 4th June in the final match of Champions Milan Mega Corporate T20 Tournament at Oval Maidan, Mumbai. Batting first, Citius posted a respectable 155-6 in 20 overs, thanks to Rohit Sawardekar’s clinical unbeaten knock of 50 which came off just 35 balls. Rohit smacked six boundaries in his wonderful knock and ran well between the wickets. Vivek Wadekar provided a solid start with a patient innings of 34 runs off 44 balls. Nitin Deshmukh was the pick of the bowlers picking up 3-28 in four overs.
Orange did not get off to the best of starts, but some solid batting in the lower middle order by Nitin Deshmukh (34 runs off 25 balls), Anuj Rakya (31 runs off 25 balls) and Pramod Wagh (35 runs off 21 balls) kept them in the hunt. In the end, they fell short by just five runs as they were restricted to 150-8 in 20 overs. Rohit Sawardekar had a great day at work, as he contributed with both, bat and ball. With the ball he grabbed 2-28 in four overs and bowled well in tandem with Saurabh Thakur who also accounted for two scalps.
Rohit Sawardekar (50 not out off 35 balls and 2-28 in 4 overs) was declared as the Man of the Match for his brilliant all-round efforts.
