Ajay Maruti Kadam is a BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) certified coach, having completed his Level 1 in 2004 under the aegis of MCA (Mumbai Cricket Association) and has attended the Level A Refresher (MCA recognized) course in 2010. Kadam is one of the lucky few who have got the opportunity to attend fielding sessions conducted by the fielding maestro Jonty Rhodes.
Ajay is a right hand opening batsman and a wicket-keeper. He has been playing cricket since 1992 for Times Shield representing various corporates like Orient Shipping, DY Patil and Future Group. He plays for Kanga league in A & B divisions, and represents New Mumbai Sports Association (NMSA) and Parsee Cyclist. Kadam has won several laurels like Man of the Series in the All India Arlem Tournament in Goa (2002), Best Batsman in the Young Comrade tournament (2002) while representing Young Maharashtra club, Fastest century and Highest runs prize in the Kanga League A division (2003) while representing New Hind Club Matunga, Best Batsman in Kanga League B division (2007) while representing Apollo Cricket Club.
Apart from being a player, Kadam is a coach as well. He specializes in training wicket-keepers and opening batsmen. He has been coaching for over 10 years and has been associated with cricket academies in Thane Airoli and Mulund. He is one of the most reputed coaches in Mumbai. Currently, he is the head coach at Mulund Gymkhana, Mulund East, Mumbai. He has also worked as an intern, wherein he was associated with Mumbai’s Ranji team and U-23 team. Players like Arjun Shetty and Arun Yadav have been successful at Kanga League ‘ A ‘ division matches, courtesy Ajay Kadam’s wonderful coaching.
