Eknath Kerkar’s 29ball 71 run carnage helps Shivaji boys defeat Mumbai Police Cityriders in the Day 10 of the Mitsui T20 Tournament

Eknath Kerkar back to business as he scores a match winning 169 vs MCA Colts in the ongoing Kanga League 2017

It was day 10 well before the crucial semi finals and finals. It was quite an important match for both the teams namely Shivaji Park Warriors & Mumbai Police Cityriders. Played at the Police Gymkhana ground where many a times the teams have won the match bowling first, Shivaji park warriors too elected to bowl first after winning the toss.

However, the batting perfomance was quite decent from Mumbai Police Cityriders as they notched up 185/9 in 20 overs. Coming in at no.3 Omkar Jadhav scored a solid 60 off just 43balls rescuing his team out of the trouble. Middle order bats Shrikant & Rohit also chipped in with super quick 25 & 32 respectively further boosting the score. Sagar Mishra & Parth Sawant were the pick of the bowlers taking 3wkts each followed by 2wkts for Dhrumil matkar.

Chasing 186 in a T20 is not an easy task but the Mumbai Police openers completely nailed it with their batting as Eknath Kerkar smashed a fiery 71 off mere 29balls while Akshay Jhambekar also chipped in with a quick 42ball 81. The openers almost finished off the game single-handedly where Eknath(7 sixes) & Akshay (6 sixes) completely smashed the bowlers with utmost ease and authority.

Mumbai Police Cityriders won the match by 6wkts and 6.1 overs to spare which is quite a stylish and dominating way to win while opener Eknath Kerkar was declared ‘man of the match’ The tournament is reaching its end and we certainly wish the teams all the luck to put their best foot forward.
