Played at the MB Union CC, Cross Maidan on 24th september between Lord Northbrook CC & Vijay CC, it was a match where the fast bowlers dominated the entire match from both the teams. Vijay CC who won the toss elected to field first as most of the teams have been doing so this season.
150 to 190 has been the average 1st innings score in Kanga this season and batting first, Lord Northbrook CC were all out for 145/10 in 39.3 overs. Vishal Chaturvedi at no.8 played a match saving rather match winning knock of 63 off just 76balls (3 fours, 4 sixes) to steer his team to atleast 145 or else they would have been all out in two digit figures. The bowler who did the maximum damage and proved to be potent for Northbrook was right arm fast bowler Nilesh Dhuru who took 6/49 in 14.3 overs (2maidens). Nilesh bowled consistently well at a good pace which made most of the batsman trouble facing him.
In reply, Northbrook bowlers did a terrific comeback with the ball and especially their fast bowler Nikhil Sawant who took 5/36 in 14.4 overs(6maidens) to restrict Vijay CC to 72/10 in 28.4 overs. Nikhil bowled as good as Nilesh and was the destroyer in chief for Vijay’s 1st innings. In the 2nd innings Northbrook were 47/2d in 11 overs before the end of the game’s play and Northbrook won the match on 1st innings. It was a match where both the teams gave their best but it was their fast bowlers Nikhil and Nilesh who impressed one and all. Cricketgraph congratulates both the boys for their promising perfomance while wishes luck to both the teams for their future matches.
