This match was like India vs Pakistan or Pakistan vs Bangladesh as two neighbouring teams (SVIS Kandivali vs SVIS Borivali) of the same parent clashed against each other in the semi finals of the Khichadia khar tournament(at Khar gymkhana ground).

Winning the toss, SVIS kandivali elected to field first as they preferred chasing the score on a decent batting track. SVIS Borivali were off to a decent start with their first 3 batsman giving starts. However, the player who changed the game was their no.4 left handed batsman Gautam Waghela. The talented southpaw smashed 13 glorious boundaries and 4 big sixes and proved his worth with the bat. Gautam also created a good partnership with Siddhesh Jadhav who scored a crucial 40. SVIS kandivali scored 272/7 in 45 overs with the help of Gautam Waghela’s heroic innings.

Chasing 273, SVIS Kandivali fought well but eventually fell short of 65 runs and handed over a victory to SVIS Borivali. Rahul kesari (off-spinner) was the pick of the bowlers taking 3/67 in 13 Overs followed by Gautam Waghela’s (right-arm off spinner) 2/27. SVIS Borivali won the semi finals and Gautam Waghela was adjudged ‘man of the match’ for his lustrous performance.

SVIS Borivali will certainly have positive momentum by their side when they play their finals of the tournament.
