Played at the All Saints Ground in Bhiwandi, it was the all important finals between Aambhi Punekar Barachi and Thane A (Adv) where in Thane A won the toss and elected to bat first with an aim of scoring a big total and putting the opposition under pressure.
Batting first, they notched up a very healthy total of 177/9 in 20 overs which is always a good score to defend in a T20 match. Opener Roshan Shetty was the highest scorer as he scored a crucial stroke filled 65 off just 49balls at the top of the order which included 5fours and 3sixes. Irfan shaikh at the middle order played a gem of an innings as he entertained the spectators by scoring a brutal 65 off 31balls which included as many as 6 big blows out of the boundary line. From the bowling side it was Bharat Mazire who was the pick of the bowlers as he picked 4/35 in 4 overs.
Chasing 178, the match remained thrilling till the last ball as Aamhi Punekars chased down the score with just 1wkt left. Aamhi Punekar Barachi won the match by just 1wkt in a thriller of a chase where in the top order really did a good job. No.3 Akshay Jadhav scored a fantastic 56 off just 34balls which further solidified their successful chase. Aamhi Punekar Barachi won the all important finals by a wicket and Akshay Jadhav was declared ‘man of the match’ for his solid fifty while Roshan Shetty was awarded the best batsman. Roshan was also adjudged the ‘man of the series’ for his consistent batting throughout the tournament while Rahul Apte was declared ‘the best bowler’ of the tournament.
