Bagging his 7th man of the match award this season, Omkar certainly is on a roll & is in the golden patch of form in cricket as he is performing really well both with the bat and the ball. It was the final match at Cross Maidan between Omni Global & Tech Mahindra where Tech Mahindra won the toss & elected to field first.
Batting first, Omni Global managed to score 136/10 in 20 overs which was not the best of the scores to defend and that too in the all important finals. None of the batsman right from the top order could chip in with a big score and convert it into a substantial one. The bowlers did a great job of being not only economical but also taking wickets at regular intervals which helped them restrict the opposition to a very low total.
Chasing 137 in 20 overs is not the toughest of tasks but Omni Global gave a tough fight and restricted Tech Mahindra to just 79runs in 14.3 overs. Though they failed with the bat, but they did a brilliant comeback with the ball. All-rounder Omkar Maldikar was the destroyer in chief once again as he bagged a fifer to dismantle the batting line-up of tech Mahindra. Medium pacer Omkar came up with match winning bowling figures of 5/18 in 4 overs which eventually helped his team win the match.
Omni Global won the finals of the Chanawala Challenger Tournament (Pink Ball) while Omkar was rightly declared ‘man of the match’ for his all-round contribution of 25runs & 5/18 in the match. With 167runs, 2fifties & 14wkts he was also declared the ‘man of the series’. Cricketgraph congrulates Omkar for such a great perfomance & also congratulates the entire team for their victory.
