Kanga Knockout Updates: Yuvang Shah (50 & 4 wkts), Aakash Patil (81*), A Dichokar (53) put up impressive performances

Young Muslim Sports Club after opting to bat first posted a total of 179 runs in 43.5 overs. From Elphinstone CC, Wasim and Deewakar chipped in with 2 wkts while it was all-rounder Yuvang Shah top scoring with the bat smashing a solid 50 off 78 balls (4fours).

Defending a low total of 180 runs, the pressure was definitely more on the bowling team but Young Muslim SC did a commendable job of restricting Elphinstone CC to a low total.

All-rounder Yuvang who top scored with the bat was the pick of the bowlers too taking 4/20 in 5.5 overs with his off-spinners. Yuvang also got good support from fellow spinners Yogesh Chaudhary (3/28) and Ramiz (3/30) as Young Muslim Sports Club went on to win the match by 52 runs.

Youth’s Own Union vs Friends Cricketers (Youth’s Own Union, Cross Maidan)

Youth’s Own Union CC after opting to bat first posted a moderate total of 155/10 in 40.1overs. Youth’s Own Union who were 4 down for 9 wkts at one stage got back into game with the help of a gritty half century by Atmaram Dicholkar at no.6. Atmaram scored 53 off 125 balls (5 fours) while Nikhil Manjrekar scored 34 pushing their team towards a somewhat respectable total. Off-spinner Shivam Mishra with 3/17 was the pick of the bowlers.

Friends Cricketers chasing a meagre total of 155 were bundled out for 106 runs. Youth’s Own Union bowlers did a commendable job with left arm spinners Shubham Shewale (3/17) and Karan Gohil (3/26) turning the game with their bowling as Youth’s own union won the match from nowhere by  49 runs.

Vijaychandra CC after opting to bat first were all out for 146 runs in 22.5 overs. Vaishnav Sail with a 66 ball 69 at the middle order was the highest scorer for his team while Yash Kripal who bowls left arm spin was the pick of the bowlers taking 3/50 in 8.5 overs. All-rounder Aakash Patil chipped in with 2/30 in his medium pace.

Chasing 147, Merry Youngsters openers were sent back to the hut quite early but it was the talented Aakash Patil finishing off the chase for his team. Aakash coming at no.3 scored an unbeaten match winning knock of 81* in 96 balls (6 fours) steering his team to a 5 wkt win.
