Pravin Tambe CA start with a big win

Mumbai: Pravin Tambe Cricket Academy started their campaign on a positive note as they beat Pro World Cricket Academy by 41 runs on the first day of the Reliance Health Insurance Sanjeevani Cricket Academy under-13 T-21 Cricket tournament played at the Saffire Ground in Bhakti Park, Wadala. Electing to bat first, Pravin Tambe CA scored 136 for nine as Rudra Adali and Ved Vichhi chipped in with identical scores of 16. Nikash Nerulkar and Kanav Bhajoriya picked up two wickets each for the Pro World CA.

Chasing a stiff target if 137, Pro World CA crumbled under pressure and were bowled out for 95 in 18.5 overs as Shourya Joshi bowled a match-winning spell of 4/25. Tanish Shetty scored a fighting 39 off 34 balls for Pro World, but did not get any support from the other end.

Earlier in the day, the tournament was inaugurated by former Ranji Trophy cricketer Nishit Shetty, senior Mumbai and IPL leg-spinner Pravin Tambe and Reliance Health Insurance’s Sayan Pal in presence of Trustees of Sanjeevani Cricket Academy.

Raunak Patel bowls Pravin Tambe CA to a huge win

Mumbai: The promising young bowler, Raunak Patel of Pravin Tambe Cricket Academy bowled a match-winning spell of four overs, two maidens, two runs and six wickets that helped his side thrash St. Arnold by nine wickets in a totally one-sided clash on the second day of the Reliance Health Insurance Sanjeevani Cricket Academy under-13 T-21 Cricket tournament played at the Saffire ground in Bhakti Park, Wadala. Electing to bat first, the St. Arnold side were bowled out for a paltry total of 18 in 9 overs as Raunak ran through the batting line-up. Opener, Shreyas Sabnis was the top-scorer (8 off 10 balls) as six batsmen of St. Arnold were dismissed for zero. In response, Pravin Tambe CA lost a wicket, but easily chased the score in two overs to register a convincing win.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

In the other match of the day, Dilip Vengsarkar CA, Oval closely beat Boys CC by eight runs to start their tourney on a winning note. Batting first, Dilip Vengsarkar CA scored 113/7 as Aryan Deshmukh scored a fine knock of 54 in 44 balls. Jay Bhanushali was the most successful bowler for Boys CC as he picked four wickets in his five overs that included two maidens and gave away just five runs. Chasing a target of 114, the opening batsman of Boys CC, Ayush Patil fought hard, scoring 38 in 59 balls, but his effort went in vain as his side fell short by eight runs. Ayush Singh (3/16) and Samrat Bhat (2/17) bowled well to restrict the opposition.
