Held at the MB Union ground in Mumbai, it was the all important finals between CEX & WNS where in CEX won the toss & elected to bat first to put the opposition under pressure by posting a big total on the board.
Batting first, however was a bad day for them in the office as they were all out for just 107/9 in 20 overs. Right-arm off spinner Mandar Garude was the pick of the bowlers taking 3/5 in his 2 overs followed by 3wkts for Sandeep Mahajan in his 4overs. Captain Nikhil was the highest scorer with 44 coming at no.3 but the rest of the batsman could not convert their starts to make a big total on the board.
Chasing 108 at just above 5runs per over is always a easy task in T20’s & WNS just did the same thing while chasing as they won the match by 6wkts in 15 overs. All-rounder Mandar Garude was the highest scorer smashing a quickfire 47* off just 37balls which included 6 fours and 1 six to finish of the chase in style.
WNS C.C won the finals by 6wkts and 5 overs to spare while all-rounder Mandar Garude was declared ‘man of the match’ for his brilliant perfomance. Surprisingly Mandar was also declared the best bowler of the tournament. Cricketgraph congratulates the winning team while also wishes luck to all the players for a great cricketing year ahead.
