Played at the new Payyade Cricket Ground at Kandivali in Mumbai, it was a match between two promising teams namely KSG Challengers and KSG Daredevils where in KSG Challengers won the toss and elected to field first as the wicket had some due for the bowlers.

Batting first, KSG Daredevils notched up a decent score of 242/10 in 39.4 overs which is defendable if not a big one. The openers gave a great start and especially Amit Mehta who scored 78 off 72balls to create the positive momentum. The rest of the batsman gave starts and pushed the score till 242. From the bowling side, Jay Bhuta and Vinit Parekh were the pick of the bowlers as they both chipped in with 3wkts.

Chasing 243 at 6runs per over, KSG Challengers were at one point struggling at 21/5 and were looking certainly ready for a big defeat in the hands of Daredevils. But there was something which was left and it was Maulik Mehta at no.7 who came in and changed the script of the game. From nowhere, Maulik took his team towards the victory line as he went on to score a breath taking 178* off mere 89deliveries. Maulik simply dominated the bowlers with his power hitting as he smashed 17fours and as many as 10 big hits in a completely entertaining knock. At one point where his team was looking set for a big defeat, it was his stellar batting which helped KSG Challengers win a thriller of a match with almost 7overs and 2wkts to spare. Maulik who is in a great form was declared ‘man of the match’. Also not to forget in the zone at which he is batting as his last two scores have been 103, 85 and now 178*! Cricketgraph congratulates the talented Maulik who has registered the highest ever score in any of the KSG tournaments while wishes luck to all the players for their upcoming matches.
