Sultan Sports organized Monsoon Trophy 2015 in the most challenging conditions. As names suggests, the challenge was the weather. A season that is regarded as the off-season for the game of cricket, the event was organized with much success attracting teams from as many as 8 different backgrounds.

 

The event was organized at as many as 5 different venues over the course of 11 days. A total of 8 teams participated in the tournament with 4 teams in waiting and 120 players showcasing their talent on the field.

Talking about the game statistics, this was not a very high scoring tournament with the highest team total in 160s. Nevertheless more than 3000 runs were scored in the 15 matches. The boundary count was more than 200 and the sixes counted to 110. Total number of wickets to fall were 256.

This was surely the bowlers tournament as teams struggled to chase moderate totals and scores of less than 120 were also defended a few times. Indian Travelport eventually emerged as champions defeating DTU XI in the final.

DTU XI (University), JP Institute (College/institution), Laxmi Public School (School), Indian Travelport (Corporate), Young Star XI (Club), ACE XI (Academy), Brothers XI (Amateur) and UP Warriors (Professional)

The organizer is back with another event with the name of Nehru Cup.
