NSCI wins as no.3 bat Paras Zaveri scores a match winning 88 in the Gannon Dunkerley T20 Tournament ‘18

Played at the PJ Hindu Gymkhana Ground in Mumbai, two really talented teams namely National Sports Club of India and Malabar Hill Club took on each other where in Malabar Hill Club won the toss and elected to bowl first.

NSCI who lost their in-form opener Kamran Ahmed quickly recovered back quickly on the back of their no.3 batsman Paras Zaveri. The talented batsman scored a blazing 88 off 59valls to take the game away from the opposition while create a positive momentum in his team’s favor. Paras smashed 10 fours and 2sixes while the rest of the batsman batted around him to take the team total to a respectable 189/6 in 20overs.

Chasing 190 in a T20 game is always difficult and the pressure is always on the chasing team more. Malabar Hill Club did felt the jitters while chasing as they were all out for 117/10 runs in 20overs. None of the batsman managed to make much of an impact with 20 being the highest individual score in their innings. Puneet Dave was simply economical and impressive with the ball as he took 3/22 in 4overs while Kamran Ahmed and Gautam Sahani taking 2wkts each.

NSCI won the match by 72runs while Paras Zaveri was rightly adjudged ‘man of the match’ for his crucial knock of 88runs.
