Opener Harsh Tathare’s brutal 161 and Aryan’s all-round show steers OLPS to a thumping win in the Giles Shield Tournament ‘17

Played at the Elphinstone wicket on Azad Maidan, two promising teams Our lady of Perpetual Succour High School, Chembur and JJ Fort Boys School took on each other where in OLPS won the toss and elected to bat first since the wicket looked really good for batting.

OLPS did a fantastic job batting first as they notched up a very big score of 425/2 in 45 overs. All eyes were on opener Harsh Tathare as he scored a fluent yet attacking ton. Right handed Harsh took on each and every bowler as he started counter attacking right from the start. Harsh scored 161 off mere 124deliveries which included 20fours and equally good running between the wickets. Shaun fernandes also scored a classy 97 falling just 3runs short of what could have been a flawless ton from his bat. All-rounder Aryan Agle also chipped in with 56* which further boosted the team total.

In reply, OLPS bundled out JJ Boys for just 14runs in one of the record lowest team totals this season. Pace bowler Aryan Agle who already impressed with the bat was not done yet as he bowled a stunning spell where his bowling figures were 5wkts for just 4runs while his pace partner Ronald Fernandes was equally impressive as he took 4/6. Both the bowlers attacked in tandem and reduced JJ Boys to a very low total. OLPS won the match by a record margin of 411runs where in Harsh, Aryan, Shaun & Ronald were the shining spots.
