Opener Sandeep Kunchikor smashes 118 while Badrey and Pardeep Sahu bag 4wkts each in the Young Comrade Shield Tournament ‘18

Played at the National CC, Cross Maidan, it was the all important clash between Parkophene Cricketers and National Cricket Club where in Parkophene Cricketers won the toss and elected to bat first in order to make a big total and put the opposition under pressure.

Batting first, prolific opener Suved fell early but right handed Sandeep Kunchikor gave a solid start from the other end smashing a royal 118 off 123balls. Sandeep who smashed 18fours and 2sixes ensured that the scoreboard was ticking at a nice rate. What’s more Sandeep who was looking really good smashing some regal shots in between also stitched a 148run stand with middle order batsman Adeeb Usmani who gave really good support with his 106balls 89. Parkophene on the back of these two boys managed to reach 302/10 in 62.5 overs which is a defendable total for sure. Fast bowler Atish Gawand was impressive with the ball taking 4/82 for NCC.

Chasing 303 in 70 overs is always possible but not if you have quality bowlers like Badrey Alam Khan and Pardeep Sahu. Pace spearhead Badrey Alam as always was quite effective with the ball bagging 4/61 in his 12overs while one of the most talented spinners in Indian Cricket-Pardeep Sahu once again brought in his experience into play taking 4/59 in 8.4 overs which restricted National Cricket Club to 259/all out in 41.1overs. Had they batted till the end with one batsman staying solid, they could have easily won the game where in opener Omkar Gaurav was the only one who looked solid smashing 73.

Fast bowler Badrey Alam who took 4wkts

It was a good win for Parkophene Cricketers where in Sandeep was the most impressive with the bat while Pardeep Sahu and Badrey Alam showed their experience and worth with the ball.
