It is not true that only on TV you get to watch those Glenn Maxwell or Afridi type of knocks, there are hidden talents in every corners of Mumbai & India and every local tournament has that one or two players who are feared for their aggressive batting. It was the same case with Parikshit Tripathi as he simply entertained the crowd with his batting histrionics against FCC.
F.C.C phantoms & Reliance Gen. clashed for a crucial encounter at AIS Taloja Cricket Ground. FCC won the toss & elected to bat first with an aim of putting Reliance under pressure by posting a big total on the board. It was a decent performance by the FCC batsman as they managed to score 142/10 in 20 overs. Opener Kshitij Nadkarni & Rupesh Ambolkar were the leading scorers as they made 40(37) & 37(23) respectively for their team. From Reliance, Robin Mishra was the pick of the bowlers taking 2/24 in 4 overs. Robin was supported well by the other bowlers too as they successfully contained the batsman as well as took important breakthroughs at the right time.
Chasing 143 looked so easier thanks to their left-handed opening batsman Parikshit Tripathi as he scored a merciless 52 off just 22balls (8fours,2sixes).Parikshit was so aggressive in his approach that he went on to start hitting from the very 1st over where he smashed 4 boundaries in the opening over of the innings itself. In fact the start which he gave itself speaks a lot about his approach towards the game making him a dangerous opener. Utsav at no.3 also scored a brilliant 44 & stitched a nice partnership with Parikshit while Dushyant Shewale (31* off 29) & Prasad (5*off 4) finished the chase in just 16 overs.
Reliance Gen won the match by 7wkts & 4 overs to spare & it was quite a commendable win. Cricketgraph congratulates Parikshit as well as the whole team for their great win & wishes them all the luck for their coming matches.
