Prasad Pawar (76) and Mayur Sanap (78) help Mumbai Police City Riders win in the opening day of Mitsui Shoji T20 Tournament’19

Bandra Police after opting to bat first at the Police Gymkhana Ground posted a healthy total of 191/5 in 20 overs. Opener Kaustubh Thakur looked good for his 30 ball 40 while Onkar Jadhav top scored for his team hitting an impressive 33 ball 58 (3 fours , 4 sixes). Khizar Dafedar and Manan Khakhar gave the finishing touch to their team’s innings coming up with quick cameos of 38* off 28 and 24* off 9balls pushing the team towards an excellent total.

Mumbai Police who are an equally strong side were not deterred by a big target in hands as Prasad Pawar and Mayur Sanap stitched a match winning 126 run stand in 72 balls for the 2nd wicket. Opener Prasad who is known to be a very effective batsman while chasing scored 76 in mere 39 balls (6 fours, 6 sixes) while the in -form Mayur Sanap who has been hitting half centuries at will consistently in the T20 format continues to impress hitting an elegant 78 off 56 balls (7 fours. 3 sixes) as Mumbai Police City Riders won the match in the 2nd last ball by 4 wkts.
