Played at the Young Zoroastrian CC (Azad Maidan) in Mumbai, it was a match between two experienced sides namely Fort Vijay CC and New Hindu CC where in Fort Vijay CC won the toss and elected to field first in order to restrict the opposition to a low total.
Their decision to bowl first was quite spot on as they restricted New Hindu CC boys to 145/9 declare in 49 overs. Opener Sachin gave a start but could not convert his 27 but it was their solid no.3 batsman Satish Nair who top scored in the innings with a fighting 118ball 53. Left-handed Satish smashed just 2 fours and remained solid at the crease while the wickets kept on falling from the other side. From the bowling side, the bowler who impressed one and all was their right arm pacer Rushap Shinde who bagged a 5 wkt haul coming up with impressive bowling figures of 5/42 in 14 overs which resulted in maximum damage.
In reply, New Hindu boys equally gave a tough fight with the ball before Fort Vijay remained 7down for 73 in 38 overs before the end of the game’s play where the match was declared drawn. It was a tight match and Rushap’s bowling was definitely the highlight perfomance of the match. Cricketgraph congratulates Rushap while wishes all the players luck for their upcoming matches.
