It was yet another thrilling quarter-finals of the young comrade shield tournament where players from both the sides played exceedingly well & gave a tough fight to each other. D.Y Patil which is known for its strong batting line-up elected to bat first after winning the toss in order to post a big total on the board.

Batting first, D.Y Patil did their job perfectly & managed to live up to their own expectations as they managed to score 359/10 in 70 overs. It was a good display of batting which took their team total to a defendable one. Right-handed Shubham Ranjane coming at no.4 played a calm & composed knock of 115 off just 140 balls & played the anchors role to perfection. Shubham was playing with patience & smashed 11 glorious boundaries & a six in his 140 ball stay at the crease. Yogesh Takawale was the 2nd highest scorer in the side with a brisk 75 followed by Awam Khan’s 46 which eventually pushed their team total to 359. From the bowling side, left-arm spinner Hemant Buchade gave whatever he had in the do or die encounter against D.Y as he scalped 6/94 to trouble the batsman. Buchade lacked support from the other end or else D.Y Patil could have been restricted to a low total for sure. Hemant was simply outstanding with the ball & kept on taking wickets consistently.
