Abis XI and MIG Academy faced each other for a crucial league match at the Navroz Cricket Ground, Azad Maidan, Mumbai. Team Abis who have a fairly strong batting line up elected to bat first after winning the toss & make the most of the conditions to put the opposition under pressure.

Batting first, it was not the best of the starts with openers losing their wickets early & one of the openers Samad being out for a duck. However, right-handed Abhinav singh came to the rescue and scored a splendid 64 runs to take his team out of the trouble. Singh’s 64 came off just 52 balls and he scored runs freely in all the parts of the ground. Yes he is the same Abhinav who had scored a fast double hundred (204 off 183) in the Giles Shield Tournament in December 2016. The rest of the batsman also played well chipping in with 30”s and 20’s which eventually helped them reach a total of 194/7 in 25 overs. From the bowling department, Atharva was the pick of the bowler taking 2/24 in 5 overs.

Chasing 195, MIG team were all out for just 105 runs with their no.3 batsman More who was the only one who looked good for his 41. The bowlers did a good job with the ball where Arun Gupta bowled well taking 2/13 in 4 overs.

Abis XI won the match by 90 runs and Abhinav Singh was adjudged ‘man of the match’ for his wonderful knock which helped his team post a good total to defend on the board. Cricketgraph wishes Abhinav & his whole team for a great journey ahead in the future.
