Played at the Elphinstone College, Oval Maidan in Mumbai, Oxford Public School and Parle Tilak Vidyamandir Marathi clashed against each other where in Parle Tilak boys won the toss and elected to bat first. Batting first, Parle Tilak were all out for just 112 in 48.3 overs which was not the best of the totals to defend. The bowler who did the maximum damage was Oxford’s right arm leg spinner Parikshit Dhanak who impressed one and all with his terrific bowling figures of 7/38 in 15.3 overs. Parikshit kept on bowling in the right areas and made the ball turn which consistently troubled the batsman. In reply, Oxford public school chased down the score in just 34.4 overs and won the match by 6wkts. Parikshit was definitely the standout performer of the match and certainly looks really promising!
In the other match between Al-barkat high school and Fatima High school at cross united ground opp. Azad Maidan, Al Barkat won the toss and elected to bat first scoring a healthy total of 314 where Himashu was the highest scorer with 47* followed by Nisar Shaikh’s 43. Off Spinner Ayush Bidwai was the only shining spot in a match dominated by the Al-barkat batsman as he fought like a lone warrior taking 7/107 in 17 overs against the Al-barkat boys. Though his team lost by 222runs where in Mansoor Saud took 4/6 for Al-barkaat, Ayush certainly managed to grab all the attention with his impressive bowling. Cricketgraph congratulates both the talented kids while wishes luck to all the players for a great cricketing season ahead.
