Vendant Murkar’s 76 steers Shardashram to a win in the MGSM Inter School Cricket Tournament

Vedant Murkar (Shardashram School Team) was awarded as man of d match in final

It was the all important final of Matunga Gujarati Seva Mandal Inter School Cricket Tournament encounter between two strong teams namely Matunga Premier School and Shardashram School. This Tournament organised by Shree Matunga Gujarati Seva Mandal & Matushri Vimlaben Khimji Tejukaya Sports. Shardashram who have a decent batting line-up elected to bat first after winning the toss & put Matunga under pressure.

However, Matunga school bowled well as Shardashram boys were all out for just 189 all out. Their wicket-keeper batsman Vedant Murkar who is also the skipper of the side was the saving grace scoring a well crafted 76. Right handed Vedant scored a classy 76 and looked confident throughout his stay at the crease. Mayuresh kadam was the only other batsman apart from Vedant who looked good for his 30. Ayush Singh was the pick of the bowlers from Matunga taking 3 wickets.

d before Matunga lost their last batsman in the 45^th over. Sachin Rao was the highest scorer from Matunga scoring a fluent 58. Sachin played well but he hardly got any support from the other end. Right arm off-spinner Vignesh Tirlotkar had saved his best for the finals as he scalped 4 important wickets at the right time which played a huge role in restricting Matunga to 184.

Shardashram won the tournament finals & they must be proud of their own performance in the series. Vedant Murkar was adjudged ‘Man of the match’ for the third consecutive time in the tournament while Sachin was awarded ‘Best batsman in the finals” followed by Vignesh (8 wkts in the tournament) and Adarsh Patil getting the ‘Best Bowler’ & Best Fielder” in the finals.
