Virendra Yadav scalps 4 while Omkar & Pratik does the job with the bat in the Mumbai Junior Shield ‘18

 

Played between New Hindu CC and Seth Memorial CC at the SRT.2 ground in Mumbai, it was a crucial clash between two promising teams where in Shantibhai Seth boys won the toss and elected to bat first with an aim of making a big 1st innings total.

However, Shantibhai CC boys were in for a shock as their decision to bat first wasn’t that profitable. Shantibhai Memorial CC were bundled out for 149 runs in 40.3 overs where in Rasik Naik at the middle order top scored with a valiant 43. Right arm leg spinner Virendra Yadav was the pick of the bowlers taking 4/23 in 6 overs. Viren bowled in the right areas and kept on troubling the batsman taking wickets at regular intervals which helped his team in restricting them under 150. Yash Mahale & Karthik Mishra also bowled well taking 2wickets each.

Opener Omkar Jadhav who scored 57*

Chasing a score of 150, talented and attacking openers of New Hindu CC took the onus of chasing on their shoulders helping their team win the match in style by 10wkts. In form and consistent Omkar Jadhav scored 57* off 46balls while the aggressive Pratik Patil smashed a 60ball 86* (8fours,3sixes) to dismantle the opposition bowlers. Both the openers attacked in tandem smashing some really good shots while also doing really good running between the wickets.

New Hindu CC won the match in a commanding manner where in Virendra Yadav with 4wkts and both the openers Omkar and Pratik stood out in the match.
