Yashaswi Jaiswal scores a solid 136 while Hashir Dafedar & Harshit Janvedkar stitch a 224run stand to steer their team to a win in the Mahindra Shield Tournament ‘17

Played at the New Hind SC, Dadkar Maidan, it was a match between Vijay Manjrekar XI and Vijay Merchant XI where in Vijay Manjrekar XI won the toss and elected to bat first as the wicket may have tilted towards the batsman since the rains are over.

Vijay Manjrekar XI did not bat as strongly as they may have planned for as they were all out for just 193 runs in 65overs. Opener Mushir Khan gave a solid start scoring 80 off just 141balls (6fours, 3sixes). Mushir batted till 5wkts were down and shows the solidity of the batsman. Slow left arm spinner Kartik Mishra was the pick of the bowlers as he took 4/25 in 10 overs. Vijay merchant XI batted better than the opposition as they scored 225runs taking a lead of 28runs. Hashir Dafedar who is really looking in good touch scored 53 off 59balls.

In their 2nd innings, Vijay Manjrekar XI declared their innings at 312/6 in 61.2 overs giving a solid perfomance. Left-handed Yashasvi Jaiswal who is really getting prolific in Mumbai with his consistent batting brought his team back into the game as he scored an attacking yet solid 136 off just 157balls. Playing at a strike rate of 85+, Jaiswal smashed 14fours and 5sixes to help his team surpass a score of 300+. Pranav Dhanavde also gave a useful contribution as he smashed 65. Chasing 281, in form Hashir Dafedar literally took on the bowlers as he scored 114 off mere 80balls (11fours, 7sixes) to take the game away from the opposition. Harshit Janvedkar also scored a match winning 122 off just 118balls (17fours, 2sixes) as both the batsman stitched a game changing partnership of 224 runs taking their team to a 5wkt win. It was a match full of excellent performances and all these boys right from Yashasvi, Hashir, Harshit, Mushir are looking really good to progress leaps and bounds in cricket.
