10wkt haul for Aman Manihar & twin fifties for Dasrath Chavan in the U19 KC Mahindra Shield Tournament’19
Vijay Manjrekar XI opting to bat first at MCA Kandivali were all out for 182 runs in 68.1 overs. With most of the batters struggling, it was Shashvat Jagtap (41) and Saiprasad Naidu (38) top scoring for Vijay Manjrekar XI. Left arm spinner Aman Manihar was simply spot on with the ball as he continues to prove effective with his wily spin taking 6/52 in 26.1 overs coupled with 12 maidens.
Dattu Phadkar XI in reply could only muster a total of 143 despite a solid 66 by their opener Dasrath Chavan. Dasrath batted for 44 overs facing 134 deliveries but he certainly lacked support from the other end. Left arm quickster Darshan Mangukia was the pick of the lot taking 4/27 with 8 maidens in 17 overs.
Vijay Manjrekar in 2nd innings declared at 246/9 thanks to Jay Jain’s crucial 68 at no.8 giving a target of 282 to Dattu Phadkar XI. Aman Manihar was again amongst the wickets taking 4/81 while medium pacer Balvantsinh Sodha with 4/59 in 23 overs alongwith 7 maidens was the pick of the bowler in 2nd innings.
Dattu Phadkar XI batted well in the 2nd innings in what seemed like a strong comeback thanks to opener Dasrath Chavan (88* off 146 balls) and Bhargav Patil (87 off 109 balls) stitching a almost match winning 174 run stand for the 5th wicket. Both the batsman ensured their team did not get all out as they dodged the bowlers with resistance. However, Dattu Phadkar XI were 225/5 in 53 overs at the end of the game’s play where Vijay Manjrekar XI won the match on 1st innings lead.
It was a head to head exciting competition with some impressive performances right from Aman’s 10 wkt haul to Dasrath scoring twin fifties & batting for almost 97 overs in the match. Bhargav also played a fantastic known while from the opposition team, Jay Jain & Darshan Mangukia looked impressive.
