Balpreet Singh Saini: Ton Maker From Thane

Balpreet Singh Saini is a prolific run-scorer playing for the Vasant Vihar High School in Thane. Still U-14, Saini has managed to score almost 1000 runs in the 2022-23 season. His notable performances were against the Rizvi Springfield and Hiranandani Foundation School.

Against the mighty Rizvi Springfield, Balpreet hammered a smashing 189 off just 123 deliveries in a 37-over game in the Mumbai Indians U-14 Tournament. Balpreet managed to hit 25 boundaries as his team reached 339. No other batsmen passed the 30-run mark and his innings was the difference maker. Ultimately, Rizvi were bowled out for just 139 as VVHS won the game by a margin of 200 runs.

In the Finals of the U-14 Ghantali Trophy, Balpreet Singh Saini had another successful outing with the bat. Opening the innings, Saini faced 116 balls scoring 124 for his team at the Dadoji Kondev Stadium. HIs innings comprised of 11 fours and 3 sixes. He formed crucial partnerships with Parth Panchamatia (40 off 63) and Vedant Chavan (51 off 47) to take the team’s total to 250 in 42 overs.

After a dominant display with the bat, VVHS bowled out HFS for 128 and claimed the championship for themselves.

Balpreet Singh Saini’s talent is one to be kept an eye upon for the near future.
