Chirag Khurana, secures a semi-final berth for TATA Sports in RCF T20

Chirag Khurana’s soild 4 for 20 powered TATA Sports to a 61 runs victory against Repro in a round match of the 10th RCF T20 Cricket Tournament 2019 for the Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Cup, organized by Rashtriya Chemicals & Fertilizers Limited under the auspices of MCA and played at the RCF Colony ground, Chembur on Monday.

Put in to bat, Tata Sports had made 187 for 4 in 20 overs. They faced almost zero difficulty in negotiating the rival bowling attack and their batsmen, in particular both the right-handed openers, scored runs freely and they amassed a huge total, and they also produced a 72 run partnership for the first wicket. Skipper Nikhil Patil batted through the innings, but made only 55 not out of 27 balls, including 4 fours and 3 sixes. Yash (2/26) was the pick of the Repro bowlers.

Repro’s Nehal batted gutsily in scoring 43 runs but unfortunately received no support from the other batters. Opener Bhupen (29 runs) was the only other batsman managed to offer some resistance and get some runs on the board. The Repro collapsed from 49 for 3 to 126 for 9 in pursuit of 188 in 20 overs.

Chirag Khurana of TATA Sports won the ‘Man-of-the-Match’ and received the award from P D Shinde DGM (HR) and Sanjeev Doshi AGM (HR). Chirag picking up 4 for 20 in four overs, including the master Eco of 5.00 . TATA Sports, they are in to semi’s.
