DY Patil and CCI In The Same Group As Purshottam Shield To Be A White Ball One Day Affair

The oldest tournament in Mumbai, Purshottam Shield will begin from the the first weekend of November 2022. Well known for its traditional format of 70-overs per side lasting just a day and a half, this year it seems the Mumbai Cricket Association have taken a different stance. The 106th Purshottam shield will be a one day white ball contest between 28 clubs i.e A & B division clubs of Mumbai.

Previously, there were limited opportunities as the red ball tournament was a knock out competition however this season, there will be 7 groups with 4 teams each. This way every team is guaranteed at least 3 games. With the Vijay Hazare Trophy on the horizon, the Purshottam Shield is expected to act as an audition for gritty Mumbai cricketers who wish to represent the state.
