Ghooman’s 4th innings ton scripts a dramatic turnaround while Nikhil Patil & Pardeep Sahu shine for AG in the B Div Times Shield’19

After putting Account General (AG) team to bat first at Karnatak Cross Maidan, AG managed to muster a total of 268 all out in 77.1 overs. AG could have been cleaned up for 100-130 odd runs had it not been their experienced campaigner Nikhil Patil Sr. coming up with a brilliant knock of 123 runs in 141 balls. Nikhil smashed half of the team runs hitting 11 fours and 3 sixes as he anchored his team towards a respectable total. From the bowlers, Yogesh Dicholkar and Vikas Meena with 3 wkts each were the pick of the lot.

Nikhil Patil- scored 123 and 51 in the match

MPBT (Mumbai Port Trust)  team in reply were all out for 132 runs in 55.3 overs with Rajendra Pandit top scoring with 50* off 40 balls (6 fours). From the bowlers, it was their star performer Pardeep Sahu once again showing his brilliance with the ball taking 7/46 in 24 overs coupled with 5 maidens. As always Pardeep made life difficult for the batters with the ball zipping in and using variations to deceive MPBT batters & restrict them to a low total.

Vikas Meena

With a lead of 136 runs, AG in 2nd innings were all out for 182 with Nikhil Patil once again crossing the 50 run mark hitting a quick 31 ball 51 alongwith Swapnil Salvi chipping in with 41 runs. Vikas Meena with 5/61 came up with an important spell for his team which helped them make a comeback in the match.

Pardeep Sahu-bowling figures of 11/136 in the match

Chasing 319 in 2nd innings when they were all out for 132 in the 1st innings. the odds were definitely not in their favor but Ramanprit Guman came up with a 4th innings majestic 118 which sealed the deal for his team. Ramanprit was also nicely supported by Kunal Chalke (56 runs) as MPBT went on to chase down the target winning the match with 1 wkt in hand. Pardeep Sahu was once again effective with bowling figures of 4/90 but MPBT somehow got the better of AG bowlers in the 4th innings in what can be described as one of the dramatic turnarounds & a memorable win for the MPBT Team.
