Harris Shield Updates- Shreyash (167), Kshitij (155), Prithvi Nair (149), Sanjeev Misal (113), Nishad (71) Aarav (7 wkts) & Tejas Rajput (6 wkts) put impressive performances

 

SVIS team batting first at Shivaji Park vs Vibgyor High School amassed a massive total of 583/5 in 45 overs after winning the toss and electing to bat first. Shreyash Hirlekar and Kshitij Singh stitched a massive partnership for SVIS dominating the bowlers into pieces. Shreyash who has been in great nick continued to sizzle with the bat this time hitting a magnificent 167 runs in just 82 balls. An innings of pure substance as he covered every corner of the ground while Kshitij on the other hand smashed 155 off 103 balls hitting 13 fours and 2 sixes being equally impressive with the bat.

In reply, Vibgyor High School were all out for just 66 runs with Kartik Patankar being the pick of the bowlers taking 3 wkts for 0 runs.

In the other match between Shardashram Vidyamandir and and IES Secondary School, the powerful Shardashram School posted 504/3 thanks to some thumping tons by Prithvi Nair (149) & Sanjeevkumar Misal (113). Both the batters were simply a treat to the eyes as they displayed their school’s powerful cricket legacy through their bats. Apart from them, Varun Raaji (55*) and Ishaan Patkar (53) scored gritty half centuries.

Adding further to the IES Woes was the excellent bowling performance by Atharva Bhagat (5 wkts for mere 7 runs) and Pranav Sonawane(4 wkts for 8 runs) which restricted IES to just 25 runs all out.

Tejas Rajput and Nishad Varkanthe

 

In the match between Jankidevi School and BJPCI, Jankidevi team batting first at Young Maharashtra wicket posted a total of 182/10 in 56 overs. From the bowlers it was spinner Tejas Rajput proving to be the star performer coming up with an excellent spell of 6/44 in 12.3 overs. Tejas was spot on with the ball coming up with wickets at regular intervals. For Jankidevi, Jeet Malkani’s 69* was the highest score.

Chasing 183, BJPCI were struggling with 9 wkts down and still 56 more runs needed. In what was a dramatic turnaround and one of the heroic victories, the tailenders gave good support to no.6 batsman Nishad Varkanthe who scored a Dhoni-esque 71* to script a fantastic win for his team. Nishad kept on batting with the wagged tail and ensured his team won the match with 4 balls to spare.

In the match between Hansraj Morarji Public school vs Dadar Parsee Youth Union SchoolDadar Parsee Youth Union School won the toss and elected to bat first. HMPS team bowled them out at for a total of 87 runs in which youngster Aarav Pushkarna restricted the opponent by taking 7 wickets in 9.3 overs and giving away only 16 runs. It was an impressive spell where in Aarav definitely grabbed the right attention on the merit of his performance. HMPS school chased down the score in just 9 overs where in Master Aaron Chillapan scored a flashy 55* and Aarav Pushkarna remaining not out on 24*
