Joshi scalps nine wickets in Podar school’s win in MI Junior Cricket Tournament’20

Nagpur: Shivam Joshi missed a chance to do a perfect ten but he left his mark with a remarkable performance by bagging a nine-wicket haul in the Boys Under-16 match of the Mumbai Indians Junior Cricket Tournament at the Gurunanak Ground in Nagpur on Friday.

Joshi of Podar International led his team to a 10-wicket victory against Prerna Public School. His rare feat helped Podar School to bowl out Prerna batsmen for just 37 runs in 6.3 overs. Podar knocked off the target in just 3.2 overs with both openers Palash Kanoje (19) and Anurag Dixit (13) returning unscathed.

Elsewhere, Pratham Maheshwari’s all-round performance led Centre Point School Katol Road to massive a 399-run win over MKH Sancheti Public School. Maheshwari scored 114 runs off 40 balls to guide his side to a mammoth total of 514/5 in 40 overs and later took three wickets to help Centre Point bowl out their opponents for 115 runs.

In the Under-14 Boys category, Sachin Pal of Sandipani School, Hazaripahad scored 101 runs off 75 balls and later grabbed a crucial wicket to star in his team’s 196-run win over Kurvey’s New Model Public School.
