Left arm Speedster Uzair Khan shines for DY Patil in the quarter finals of Young Comrade Shield’20

DY Patil after being put to bat first on their home ground were all out for a modest total of 192/10 in 55.3 overs, the kind of totals DY Patil are not used to on their home grounds. Skipper Subramanian Doraiswamy with 54 runs and Sarvesh Damle (53 runs) at the middle order top scored for DY in an otherwise dismal batting performance. From the bowlers, it was again right arm pacer Aiswarya Surve stamping his presence with a solid spell of 6/55 in 17.3 overs.

Now it was challenge for DY Bowlers to defend such a low total and Karnatak Sporting Association is one team which also has a good batting line up. However, DY Patil unleashed their trump card in left arm quickster Uzair Khan who ran through Karnatak’s batting line up with his searing line and length.  Uzair who also plays for Mumbai Team brought his skills into play as he came up with excellent bowling figures of 6/42 in 17.3 overs. Uzair was quite effective in the peak sessions taking important wickets at the middle order as Karnatak Sporting Association were all out for a total of 178 runs in 57.3 overs.

Result- DY Patil win a low scoring thriller by 14 runs.
