Left-hander Sahil Jadhav’s 181 deflates Ghatkoper Jolly Gymkhana in the U19 Naren Tamhane Tournament’19

Ghatkopar Jolly Gymkhana after opting to bat first at the Western Railway, Cross Maidan were reduced to just 108 runs all out in 34.3 overs. Apart from opener Akash Tripathy (48), the rest of the batsman found it difficult to get going. Leg-break bowler Rohit Kambli with 4/33 was the pick of the bowlers while left-arm spinner Bhushan Kastur (3/33) also proved to be quite effective.

Dilip Vengsarkar Oval Center were off to a flying start thanks to their top order batsman chipping in with good knocks. Opening the innings, Sahil Jadhav went on to score a marathon innings of 181 runs in 183 balls. Sahil smashed 23 fours and 5 sixes en-route his brilliant 181 while Yash Salunkhe at no.4 was the 2nd highest scorer with 66 runs off 104 balls as the team declared their innings on 362/6d in 74.3 overs.

Thanks to some excellent bowling by the Vengsarkar boys, Ghatkoper Jolly Gymkhana were again bundled out for 128 runs as Dlip Vengsarkar Oval Centre went on to win the match by an innings and 126 runs.
