Little Kundu does a Lara! Smashes a massive 408* in Maharashtra U16 & U19 Premier League’21

With already 80 centuries, 111 half centuries and 7 double centuries to his name at different levels, Abhigyan Kundu since his early days made a mark for himself for his batting abilities. The compact left hander is known for his consistency and confidence with the bat and with this knock, Kundu has just made a strong case for himself to make it into the state team which is a dream for every aspiring young cricketer.

The 81st century which he smashed a few days ago will be one of the very special tons out of his all the hundreds as he had made a history by scoring one of the fastest quadriple hundreds in India. From 18th December to 21st December, Atma Malik Cricket Academy has organized Maharashtra Premier League for U16 and U19 age groups. Two teams from Andhra Pradesh, Avinash Salvi Foundation Mumbai, Maharashtra Warrior and Atma Malik have participated in this competition. The inaugural match was between the U16 Andhra Pradesh team and the Avinash Salvi Foundation, Mumbai team.

Avinash Salvi Foundation, Mumbai won the toss and elected to bat first in the limited overs match on December 19. Mumbai’s leading batsman Abhigyan Kundu hit 37 fours and 36 sixes off 145 balls scoring a marathon knock of 408* out of his team’s total of 544 runs.  In reply, U16 Andhra Pradesh team managed 138 all out as Mumbai won the match by 406 runs.

Abhigyan Kundu who started his cricketing career at the grounds of Atma Malik Cricket Academy at the tender age of 6, has achieved great success in a short span of time. Mumbai’s Chetan Jadhav who is the coach of Kundu says “No player has ever scored such a big individual score on the field of Atma Malik, this is going to be one of the most unforgettable games of Kundu, over the years, he has scored runs everywhere in every corner of Maharashtra as well as India at Club and Local Level, its about time, the association recognizes this talent and grooms him for future”

The second clash was between Andhra Pradesh U-19 team and Maharashtra Warrior Sangh at Maidan No. 2. In this match too, Aniket Gaikwad from Maharashtra Warriors hit an unbeaten 110 off 99 balls with 12 fours and 3 sixes to take the team to 227 in 30 overs. In this match too, Andhra Pradesh lost by 22 runs with 205 all out. Andhra Pradesh Cricket Association Secretary A. Ramchandra, Mumbai’s Chetan Jadhav, Andhra Pradesh’s coach Mahesh, Nashik’s businessman Sanjay Gaikwad were present to witness this amazing feat. Mr. Nandkumar Suryavanshi, President, Atma Malik Dhyanpeeth Trust, also wished Abhigyan Kundu all the best for the future.
