Maruti Suzuki India wins ‘PCF Cup’ Cricket Season III

The CSR arm of the Wave Group, The Ponty Chadha Foundation (PCF), in association with Citiskape Mediacom, finished the third season of Ponty Chadha Foundation (PCF) Cup cricket at the grounds of Genesis Global School, Noida.

The decisive match between Maruti Suzuki led by Vidur Kaushik and P&P team led by Varun Arora was held on 3rd October where Maruti Suzuki won the coveted trophy by 4 wickets.

The occasion was graced by chief guests Sh. Arvind Sharma, MP, Haryana, and Sh. Manoj Upadhyay, Director and Deputy Advisor- Energy and International Cooperation, NITI Aayog, GOI.

The PCF Cup, which aims to promote sports in India, is one of The Ponty Chadha Foundation’s most earnest efforts in the field of promoting healthy and fit life. It provides a one-of-a-kind platform for corporate cricketers and sports fans to show off their skills.

Handing over the trophy to the winning team, Mr. H.S. Kandhari, CEO, The Ponty Chadha Foundation (PCF), said, “The second wave has once again put the spotlight on the urgent need of increased fitness and lifestyle change to support immunity building in our bodies. The most predominant notion in corporate culture is that employees and job goers find it extremely difficult to remain fit. The cricketing tournament was organized to burst the myth and inspire people to shed away the sedentary lifestyle.”

About The Ponty Chadha Foundation

Initiated by Mrs. Jatinder Kaur Chadha in September 2014, in the memory of her late husband, the erstwhile visionary Chairman of the Wave Group, Mr. Ponty Chadha, The Ponty Chadha Foundation (PCF) is the CSR arm of the Wave Group. The foundation addresses areas pertaining to hunger and food security, community health, education and skill training, sports for children and corporate employees and running awareness drives for

One of the prominent initiatives undertaken by the foundation is Mata Bhagwanti Chadha Niketan (MBCN), a one-of-its-kind school in the country, founded in 1999 for especially able children in the areas of education, vocational training, occupational and physical therapy, and capacity building. The completely free provisions have empowered around 25000 especially able children to date. PCF Cup-Cricket, PCF Football League, are some of the initiatives by the Foundation for creating awareness about sports and encouraging an active and healthy lifestyle in the community.
