Mumbai’s big hitter Sairaj Patil on fire as he plonks a 69 ball 113* vs Railways in the U23 One Day Tournament’19

Mumbai team after being put to bat first were off to a decent start with openers putting on 47 runs for the 1st wicket. However, the storm was about to hit Railways which was surely not expected by them by Mumbai’s no.4 hitter Sairaj Patil. Known for his helicopter shots and clean sixes at Mumbai Club and Local level, Sairaj converted his big hitting ability on a bigger platform for the Mumbai team as he thrashed the Railways bowlers for towering sixes.

Mumbai who were silently cruising at 118/2 in 26.3 overs on the back of Bhupen’s solid 52 suddenly got their gears shifted as Sairaj coming at the middle order went on to decimitate the bowlers hitting 8 fours and 5 sixes en-route his match winning 113* off 69 balls. The death overs  were perfectly played by him and wicket keeper Adeeb Usmani who was also impressive in his knock of 49* (31 balls).

Shreyas Gurav

Railways in reply were bundled out for 139 runs in 27 overs thanks to some tight bowling by Shreyas Gurav (4/19 in 8 overs) & Salman Khan (3/53 in 9 overs). It was a commanding win by 180 runs for Mumbai while Sairaj Patil definitely stood out as the highlight performer of the day.
