Nataraj Pens Mumbai’s Own Cricket Awards-Felicitation of Awards for the Professional Category

The 2nd Edition of Mumbai’s Own Cricket Awards was conducted at Mithibai College, Vile Parle on 20th February. The awards function turned out to be quite exciting with numerous personalities from cricketing community attending the event. From renowned BCCI umpires to coaches, from School Principals to State as well as National level cricketers came to the awards function adding relevance & meaning to the awards evening.

The Jury which consisted of Umesh Patwal (Nepal National Team Batting Consultant), Sangeeta Kamat (MCA Women’s Selector) and Ajay Kadam (Former MCA Selector and BCCI Level 1 Coach) who brainstormed their way to decide the winners across 6 categories.

ADVOCATES

BEST BATSMAN Winner – Roshan Shetty from Thane Advocates A

Roshan Shetty has been in terrific form this season performing exceedingly well both with the bat as well as with the ball. This season Roshan has bagged a stunning 14 wkts in 5 matches alongwith 151 runs which helped his team win on numerous occasions.

1st Runner Up – Omneel Jadhav from Legal Eagle (Advocate team)

With 162 runs and 5 wkts in 4 matches, Omneel was a serious contender to bag the Best Batsman winner. However, Omneel won the 1st runner up award on the back of some impressive performances in the last 4 months.

2nd Runner Up-Bhaskar Nar from Thane D Champions XI

Bhaskar amassed 225 runs in 3 matches with a best score of 89 in the TASC Challengers Cup 18. Some great knocks by Bhaskar brought him into the contentions eventually winning the 2nd runner up award.

WINNER – Huzaifa Mehsaniya from RIAMS Architect Team

Total – 177 runs and 7 Wkts in 3 Matches (Best performance 105* Runs and 5wkts )

1st Runner up Architect – Chintan Sheth from Royal Falcons Architects Team

Total – 291 Runs in 3 Matches (Best score -143runs in T20 Format)

2nd Runner up Architect- Jagdish Sure from Arch Mavericks Architects Team

Total – 165 Runs in 3 Matches (Best 80 Runs)

WINNER – Dr.Rushikesh Jain from Airoli Doctors Team

Rushikesh bagged the best batsman award amongst the doctors scoring 174 runs and 11 wkts in 5 matches.

1st Runner up Doctors – Suyog Gurav from Tata Hospital Doctors Team

Total -10 wkts and 65 runs in 5 matches.

2nd Runner up Doctors – Aniket Jain from Andheri Doctors Team 

Total – 223 Runs and 4 Wickets 5 Matches
