Numerous Records broken on the way as Borivali CC reach the finals of the Kanga Knockout Tournament’19

Borivali CC after opting to bat first at MB Union, Cross Maidan posted a record total of 441/7 in 45 overs. That’s the highest ever total registered by any team in the semi-finals of the Kanga Knockout Tournament till date. Sushant Kadam coming at no.3 scored a solid 74 off just 50 balls (5 fours, 4 sixes) and also stitched a 150 run stand with no.4 batsman Abhinav Jagtap who went on to score this season’s highest individual score of 133 runs in mere 85 balls. Abhinav smashed 12 fours and 7 sixes en-route his blazing hundred and if that was not enough, more damage was inflicted by skipper Rakesh Naik who scored the fastest Kanga knockout hundred in the match at no.6. Rakesh reached his 101* in mere 42 balls which had as many as 8 sixes and 9 boundaries to his name. Rakesh who also scored one of the fastest Kanga hundred last year continues to impress one and all. Prathamesh Golatkar at no.5 also played a handy role with his 49 ball 52.

Deccan CC in reply were bundled out for 87 runs thanks to their reliable and in form spinner Himanshu Sonthalia who has been a revelation in this tournament with his wicket taking abilities. Himanshu returned with stunning bowling figures of 5/18 in 7 overs while Vishal Kavaiya with 3/8 was equally impressive as Borivali CC won the semi-finals by a record margin of 354 runs.
