Parag Khanapurkar (136) & Vikrant Auti (112) power Payyade SC to a win in the Purshottam Shield’19

Payayde Sports Club opting to bat first at Karnatak Sports Association, Cross Maidan notched up a total of 375/6 in 70 overs. After a decent opening stand by A Herwadkar (36) and Vikrant Auti who stitched 85 runs, it was left handed Auti pairing up with another left hander in Parag Khanapurkar who came at no.3 to stitch a 150 run stand for the 2nd wicket. Vikrant Auti scored 118 off 152 balls (18 fours) while Parag smashed an aggressive 136 off 125 balls in his typical fashion hitting 15 fours & 2 sixes. From the bowlers, all-rounder Ravishankar Singh with 3/66 was the pick of the bowlers.

Muslim United SC in reply were all out for 191 runs with Deepak Kumar’s 56 being the highest score alongwith Ravishankar Singh’s 44*. Payyade bowlers did a great job with the ball with Pradeep Sahu and Badrey Alam bagging 3 wkts each as Payyade SC went on to win the game by a big margin of 184 runs.

It won’t be an overstatement to say that Auti and Khanapurkar have been two of the most consistent left handers in the top division Club cricket in Mumbai in the last few years. Vikrant and Parag both have represented Mumbai team and they look all prepared to make a comeback in the Mumbai Senior Team whenever a call up is made to them.
