Sachin Yadav’s 50ball 87* steers Ruparel to a win in the semi-finals of the Social Hero T20 Cup ‘18

Played at the National CC, Cross Maidan, it was the crucial and deciding semi-finals between two promising teams namely Ruparel College and Potdar XI where in Potdar won the toss and elected to field first with an aim of restricting Ruparel to a low total and put them under pressure.

Ruparel who were made to bat first did felt some early jitters when they were struggling at one point on 14/2 but left handed Sachin Yadav who came at no.4 brought his team back into the game with a match winning attacking knock of 87* coming of mere 50deliveries. Sachin smashed 14boundaries in almost every corner of the ground and kept the bowler on toes. The rest of the batsman struggled to convert their scores as Ruparel managed to score 136/8 with Heramb Parab remaining unbeaten on 11* off 5 with Sachin at the end of their innings. From the bowling side, Jash was the pick of the bowlers coming up with bowling figures of 3/10 in 4 overs.

Defending a not so big total of 137 in 20 overs, Ruparel bowled really well as they bundled out Potdar boys to just 105runs all out with Rajneesh, Heramb and Rushikesh scalping 2wkts each while the rest of the bowlers also chipping in with a wicket making it a very strong and a collective team perfomance. Ruparel college won the semi-finals by 31runs and it was surely Sachin’s crucial knock of 87* and tight bowling by the bowlers which did the job. The finals will be surely to watch out for.
