Spinner Shamit Shetty leads from the front with back to back fifers in the Kanga League’19

Apollo CC after being put to bat first at Western Railways, Cross Maidan were reduced for a low total of 86 runs all out in 40 overs. Young Comrade CC skipper Shamit Shetty who also leads the team was the pick of the bowlers taking 5/36 in 13 overs with 3 maidens.  Shamit who took a 5wkt haul even in his previous outing looks in really good shape coming up with crucial breakthroughs taking timely middle order wickets.

Young Comrade CC received a tough fight from the Apollo CC bowlers with scoreboard reading 63/7 and 72/8 at one stage. However, Shamit under pressure chipped in with a crucial knock of 17* (21 balls) when only two wickets were in hand and he smashed a six to seal a win for his team on 1st innings lead.

Kushal Kakad

Apollo CC batted for 16 overs in 2nd innings with middle order batsman Kushal Kakkad scoring a whirlwind knock of 61*in just 33 balls (8 fours, 2 sixes) probably making it the fastest 50 so far in this season across all divisions.

Shamit Speaking with Cricketgraph said: “I lost my maternal grandfather last month who was a very special person in my life, I want to dedicate my performance and win in my maternal grandfather’s memory”
