Suhail Mistry steers PJ Hindu Gymkhana XI to a 7-wicket win over National Sports Club of India XI
On Saturday, PJ Hindu Gymkhana XI locked horns against National Sports Club of India (NSCI) XI at the former’s den in the GDCL. Winning the toss and electing to field first, PJ Hindu Gymkhana bundled out NSCI for 160 in 20 overs. The opening pair of Paras Zaveri (24 off 13) and Karan Chugh (30 off 20) provided a solid start to NSCI, with wicket-keeper Ankit Bhalaria (28 not out off 29) and Vishal Shah (26 off 13) pushing the team total to a challenging sum. PJ Hindu Gymkhana bowlers bowled well in tandem, as Kunal Shroff, DwijAdhvaryu, and Saurabh Bahutule picking up two wickets each. Vedant Gabhawala and Bakul Mistry accounted for a solitary wicket apiece.
Chasing a respectable target of 161, the home team got off to a flying start thanks to Suhail Mistry (69 not out off 56) and Saurabh Bahutule (27 off 17). Coming in at number 3, Megh Adhvaryu capitalized on the start provided by the openers and hammered a 25-ball 43 to take the game away from the opposition. Kunal Shroff too chipped in with a run a ball 15. Harsh Mehta and Sanjay Bohra of NSCI were among the wickets as they struck with 2-28 and 1-22 respectively in their four overs each.PJ Hindu Gymkhana won the match comfortably by seven wickets with five balls to spare.
