Tons by Swapnil Pradhan (179) and Sumit Ghadigaonkar (118) put them on top in the Young Comrade Shield’19

MIG who have become one of the most powerful teams in Mumbai Cricket in the last 2 years are certainly living upto their reputation of having a formidable batting line up along with an effective bowling unit.

Opting to bat first on their home ground, MIG amassed a massive 565/9 in 90 overs. The openers Swapnil and Pratik Dabholkar (54) gave a flying start of 102 runs while opener Swapnil Pradhan went on to score a massive 179 off 183 balls (24 fours). Swapnil who scored 252* in Times Shield this season continues to score big hundreds.

Kevin who came at no.3 scored an aggressive 91 (15 fours, 2 sixes) while stitched a 142 run stand with Sumit Ghadigaonkar. Sumit coming at no.4 scored a well crafted 118 off 123 balls (12 fours, 1 six) as MIG were in complete control of their innings. Skipper Pragnesh who is known for his batting this time was the pick of the bowlers taking 6 wkts even though he leaked a few runs giving 157 runs in 24.5 overs.

Parel SC in reply were all out for 247 runs with every batsman chipping in with starts but not able to convert their 20’s and 30’s. Srujan Athawale (63) and Pranay Pawar (61) scored valiant half centuries but that didn’t seem to be enough for the chase as MIG won the match by 318 runs.
